Dr. Alex Balaban has been practicing dentistry for more than 15 years, focused on cosmetic and restorative care. He founded Smile Arts Dental in Carmel in 2004 and is the practice’s one dentist, so the person who examines you is the person who treats you.
Education
Dr. Balaban earned his first Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the State Medical University of the Republic of Moldova, where he studied from 1990 to 1995. He then earned a second DDS at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, studying from 1998 to 2002 and graduating with the Honor of Excellence.
Memberships
He is a member of the Indiana Dental Association, the Indianapolis District Dental Society, DOCS (the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation), Invisalign, Lumineers, and the Perio Institute of Implantology.
How he practices
The practice’s founding idea is Fear-Less Dentistry. Dr. Balaban keeps his sedation training current through DOCS so that anxious patients, patients who have trouble getting numb, and patients returning after years away can be treated comfortably. He explains each step before it happens and welcomes you to his dental facility on Medical Drive.
